How to use PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter?

Publish Time: 2022-01-21     Origin: Site

PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter is mainly composed of Tip tube, Marker band, Balloon tube, Outer tube, Inner tube, Strain relief, Hub, Hydrophilic coating, Adhesive. It can only be used once. The product is valid for 3 years. PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter is a high-pressure resistant balloon catheter used for balloon dilatation of coronary artery stenosis or bypass graft stenosis to enhance myocardial perfusion.

What should I pay attention to before using the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter?

Please read all instructions, warnings and precautions carefully before use. Failure to do so may cause complications.

The PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter is a combination of a single-lumen catheter and a dual-lumen catheter, including an inflatable semi-compliant balloon on a rapid exchange (RX) catheter. It is an RX design, so it is assembled by a combination of a single-lumen tube and a double-lumen tube. A lumen from the proximal end of the catheter to the end of the balloon is used to inflate the balloon with 50% contrast medium diluted 1:1 with saline.

The second lumen of the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter, from the RX port portion to the distal tip, allows the use of a guide wire to facilitate the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter to enter and pass through the stenosis to be expanded. The distal shaft of the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter, including the folded balloon, is coated with a hydrophilic coating.

What are the components of the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter?

The distal tip of the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter consists of two parts: a metal spring and a plastic cover. This spring structure provides pushability and longitudinal rigidity to the distal tip of the catheter, while maintaining flexibility when bent. Therefore, the distal tip helps the system navigate through tortuous blood vessels.

The product has two platinum-iridium radiopaque marker strips (located symmetrically below the working area of the balloon, indicating the length of the balloon cylinder) to help position the balloon relative to the stenosis.

In addition, the proximal shaft has proximal (outlet) markings that help measure the position of the dilation catheter relative to the tip of the guide catheter. Shaft markers for humeral and femoral techniques are in place.

The usable length of the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter is 142cm, and the proximal shaft profile is 2.0F (0.70mm). For catheters with a balloon diameter of 1.00-4.00 mm, the distal shaft profile is 2.7F (0.90 mm). And the RX Port is about 0.014”.

How to check PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter?

1. Check before use: Before opening, carefully check the packaging of the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter for damage to the sterile barrier. Note that if the device packaging is damaged or not clean, do not use it.

2. Before using the device, carefully remove the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter from the package and check for bends, kinks and other damage. Note that if there are any signs that the product is damaged, do not use it.

To meet these growing demands, www.kosselmedtech.com has various PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheters and they are all more effective, reliable, and consistent.
