What is PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter?

Publish Time: 2022-01-18     Origin: Site

PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter is a quick-exchange balloon catheter. The balloon is made of polyamide, the proximal tube is made of stainless steel coated with PTFE, and there are two radiopaque markers made of platinum-iridium alloy on both ends of the balloon.

What are the characteristics of PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter?

The PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter currently on the market combines the competitive characteristics of the ideal main balloon dilatation catheter.

1. The size of the balloon ranges from 1.00-4.00mm in diameter and 10-30mm in length.

2. The PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter has a hydrophilic coating from the neck of the distal balloon to the Rx port for smooth navigation. The 5 mm elongated tip for 1.50 and 2.00 mm balloons can achieve distal stability and guide wire support

3. Nominal pressure 6atm

4. Rated burst pressure 16atm

What are the precautions for using PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter?

1. Use the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter before the "use deadline" specified on the package.

2. Before angioplasty, check the integrity of the catheter to ensure that the size and shape of the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter are appropriate used for specific programs.

3. Check all products before use. If the package is opened or damaged, or if there are any signs that the product is damaged, do not use it.

4. PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter can only be used by doctors who have received percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty training.

5. The patient must be treated with appropriate anticoagulants and coronary vasodilators throughout the course of treatment. Go through the formalities as needed. Medication should be continued for a period of time until the doctor considers it appropriate.

6. When reinstalling the catheter on the guide wire, provide sufficient support for the shaft section.

What are the procedures for using PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter?

1. Prepare the vascular access site according to standard practices.

2. Insert a compatible guide wire through the hemostatic valve. Carefully advance the guide wire through the guide catheter. After the guide wire is inserted, withdraw the guide wire introducer (if used).

3. A hemostatic valve should be used when using the two-wire technique. Pay special attention to the introduction, twisting and removal of one or two wires. The guide wire rotation should not exceed 180 degrees.

4. According to the doctor's judgment, connect the torque device to the guide wire. Under fluoroscopy, advance the guide wire to the desired blood vessel and then carefully pass through the stenosis.

Load the distal end of the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter back onto the proximal part of the guide wire. Make sure that the guide wire emerges from the RX port located approximately 22 cm from the proximal end of the balloon.

5. When installing the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter back into the guide wire, please support it.

6. Advance the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter on the guide wire until it is close to the hemostatic valve. Open the hemostatic valve. Insert the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter while maintaining the position of the guide wire until the balloon reaches the lesion.

7. Support the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter and firmly grasp the proximal shaft while pushing the PTCA Balloon Dilatation Catheter into the guiding catheter.
